Wise Thoughts Vietnam asked me to work with them on their series of social media posts about prejudices against mental health. I was responsible for a very sensitive topic - suicide, which can either easily offend people or be wrongly addressed if I do not understand it right.
Aspired to understand humans truths and to spread meaningful stories to the community, I spent a month reading stories of so many suicidal individuals, researching about the rationales and how people respond to such matter. I, then, built a story board of how the character should be (pose, facial expressions,...), the key elements (hands, ropes, arrows) , the wordings, the positions of each component, and the style for the illustration.
Gladly, after all the long process of building stories and finalizing art, the post received many positive reactions of the audience.

This is a sad story of the unvoiced as the behind-the-scene truths are buried with the suicides. The painting made a scene where the suicides are still stressed out with opinions even after they already end their life.
On my way to plan and execute my illustration alongside with the Content Team from Wise Thoughts Vietnam, I approached the issue with the most straightforward and open mind. Therefore, unlike most art which tend to romanticise the truth, I delivered the unadorned and raw messages with messy sketch lines, detached color patches and handwriting.
